Lifetime Achievement Award to Dr. Andreas Pittas

On January 17, 2019 Dr. Andreas Pittas, Founder and Executive Chairman of Medochemie, received the Lifetime Achievement Award, during the IN Business Awards 2018 ceremony that took place at Hilton Park Nicosia.

This is yet another significant award that Dr. Andreas Pittas receives for his remarkable business career; a career interweaved with the founding of Medochemie. The Lifetime Achievement Award is a recognition for his business achievements and contribution to economic growth, his innovative thinking and pioneering spirit, his leadership and social sensitivity.

Dr. Andreas Pittas brought his vision to life in 1976, creating a pharmaceutical empire, which provides high quality pharmaceutical therapies to over 300 million people worldwide and ranks among the top 200 leading global pharmaceutical companies. He has established thirteen manufacturing facilities, nine of which are located in Cyprus, one in the Netherlands and three in Vietnam. He is Chairman of the Council of Commissioners of the Institute of Cyprus, has served as member of the Board of Directors of several organizations and public companies, and for a number of years, he has been Chairman of the Federation of Employers and Industrialists. The President of Italy distinguished him for his contribution to the Cyprus-Italian relations, under the title of the Taxiarchus of the Italian Republic and with the highest distinction of the Grand Officer of the Italian Republic. The Medical Association of Limassol has declared him an honorary member and honoured him for his overall contribution to Cyprus Medicine.
Moreover, the Archbishop of Cyprus awarded him the golden medal of Apostle Paul, the highest honorary distinction for his contribution to the repatriation of the mosaic craft, depicting Apostle Andrew. He was also proclaimed Honorary Doctor by the Science and Technology in Archaeology and Culture Research Center (STARC) of the Cyprus Institute.
